What is a Growth Group? It is a group of people who meet on a regular basis (usually weekly or fortnightly) with the aim of growing in their relationship with God and each other. Generally the time spent together is between 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 hrs, and involves time to chat and get to know each other better, reading and discussing one or more passages from the bible and praying together.
Currently we have a group running on Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm during term time. We are always happy to start a new group if we have a few people looking for one, so if you're interested let us know.
If you've never been part of a growth group before don't be put off if you think you don't know enough to join one - you don't have to be super-spiritual or an expert on the bible! In fact, you don't even have to join in discussion - you may prefer to just listen to others. And you shouldn't have to read the bible aloud or pray aloud unless you want to.
If learning about God is all new to you, or if you're just interested in finding out a bit more about Christian beliefs, you may be interested in going through a short course called Christianity Explored that will give you an overview of what we believe about God, Jesus and the Bible. This can be done one-on-one or in a small group setting. It involves watching short segments of a DVD and the opportunity to ask questions and discuss if you wish. Again, if you just want to come along and listen, that's fine. The course goes for 7 sessions of about 1 - 1 1/2 hrs each. Contact us if you want to learn more.
